Welcome to American Family Boating

American Family Boating is a Television Series dedicated to the family that wants to play together.

In these days of kids pursuing individual interests at a younger and younger age, it is easy for a family to grow apart. I found my wife and I spending hours every week driving the kids to and from their scheduled activities. While waiting at yet another stop light on the way to another individual activity I said to myself, “Self, this is stupid. We’re missing the part of family life that goes by way too quickly by sitting in a mini van playing chauffer. So I start thinking, “what can we do as a family that everyone will find an interest in?” The answer came from some of my most favorite childhood memories: Boating. I remember whether it was near the water, in or on the water, my parents, brother, sister and I had fun. I shared my memories with my kids as bedtime stories which they now want to be a part.

So our family decided to take the plunge into boating and we’re inviting you and yours to enjoy learning and experiencing the fun of getting out on the water with us. We then invite you to get out on the water with your family. Remember, too, that half the fun can be getting there.

Our family will be starting at the beginning, no boat, no trailer and no accessories, just like many of you. To make this learning process simple, interesting, and enjoyable we will be meeting with boating experts who will be sharing their experiences and stories. And like my kids I enjoy a good story and sharing them seems to be a boating requirement.

So whether your family is thinking about becoming boaters or are old salts, come join us as my family gets our feet wet and other body parts, each week as we go Family Boating.
